Ducati DesertX and Mosko moto Reckless 40 V3.0 are a perfect match. It's that simple.

DesertX sits on a larger side of mid-weight adventure bikes, and Reckless 40 complements the bike perfectly. It's just the right size.

Reckless 40 has two width settings, for more narrow and for "normal" bikes. I used wider setting here and it fits the standard DesertX seat nicely. This is important, as rack-less luggage weight is carried mostly by the seat.

Angle of the side pockets is good and LHS side sits just above the stock silencer, more or less at the same angle. For the peace of mind, I installed the Mosko heat shield that comes with the bags. Way I installed the bags, side pocket is barely touching the heat shield. Which is great.

RHS side pocket is nicely supported by the seat and it sits nicely and firm. That said, all rack-less systems move a bit and it is a good thing, as the hits and movements of the bike are 'soaked'. Nothing should bounce excessively, of course.

Stock passenger foot peg brackets work great for lower straps.

Set like this, there is plenty of room for a rider. Handsome model on the photo is 186 cm tall (6'1). Even when standing and leaning back, bags don't interfere with riders calves.

And as with all Mosko rack-less systems, this one is very adaptable too. It can be used with or without middle bag (and 'beaver-tail). Which comes handy for super gnarly off road rides with lots of steep descents.

Also, the bike stays narrow at the back. It's worth noting that Mosko Reckless systems protects the bike perfectly, and act as a cushion pillow, in a case of fall. As the build quality is perfect, usually bags don't suffer any damage at all.

When it comes to luggage, it all depends on how much capacity is needed. I will use this setup for most single day rides (without middle bag) and for multi day rides when staying in accommodations. For multi day camping trip, I would go for something larger. But it all depends on the weather and camping setup...
