Mosko moto Reckless 80 (V4.0) on Ducati DesertX
Mosko moto Reckless 80 (v4.0) is the newest iteration of a very popular luggage system. It brings several notable improvements over its predecessors. Most noticeable change is in the harness itself. New harness is made of a composite materials, offering more stiffness while being lighter than earlier version.
Large size of the bags makes them a perfect match for Ducati DesertX. Reckless 80 is highly modular and adaptable so it's suitable for variety of riding situations. Aux-pox, tail bag and beaver tail, molle pouches can all be installed or removed, depending on specific needs. Everything from weekend getaways to multi week camping trips.
Mosko moto stuff is known for its toughness and Reckless 80 is certainly no exception. The bags will act as a cushion, helping to prevent damage to the bike once it goes down.
DesertX is notable for its slim rear end. Couple of Perun moto tailor made products make the installation of Reckless 80 easy, while greatly improving the fit. The bike is equipped with Perun moto Ducati DesertX Top luggage rack, Side carriers and Tie-down brackets.
Latest Gen 2 versions of our Top luggage rack come with a pre-drilled hole for Gnoblin. The Gnoblin can easily be installed while the rack is on the bike.
Installing the Gnoblin base in the forward most holes on the harness will position the Reckless 80 as far forward as possible, without interfering with the rider in most riding situations.
Note that we're using the Reckless 80 without the removable rubber foam. This makes mounting and dismounting to the Gnoblin a lot easier, but will damage the powder coating on the rack. It is easy to trim the rubber foam so the installation is easy and the bike stay protected.
Positioning the R80 like this leaves the stock grab handle of the DesertX easily accessible. This is greatly appreciated any time the bike needs to be moved around or man-handled.
Legs of the harness are installed in position 4 which best suites the DX.
Harness of the Reckless 80 V4.0 is very stiff and there's little chance of it interfering with the swing arm, or rear wheel. To add further stability to this setup, I prefer installing 4l Mosko Aux-pox to Perun moto Side carriers. This makes the entire setup extremely stable. Aux-pox are bolted to the Side carriers and can permanently live on the bike. This is a great place for tools, first aid and tire repair kit.
Even with the Aux-pox external pockets installed on the Reckless 80, there's practically no chance of them touching the silencer.
Lower straps are attached do Perun moto Tie-down brackets. Tie-down brackets have a minimalist design and are intended for riders who like to keep the weight down by removing stock passenger foot rest mounts.
Reckless 80 is a bit wider than handlebars The perspective is a bit shifted in the photo, but you get the point.
Using the straps to install the Reckless 80 gives more flexibility in choosing the best fore-aft position on the bike. Personally, this is my preferred way. Our luggage rack has slots in all the right places and at the perfect angle for straps.
Keeping the straps as short as possible gives a bit more stability to the entire setup.

As can be seen in the photo above, there is plenty of free space on the Top luggage rack which can be utilized to mount additional bags.
Even though the straps are slightly blocking access, the grab handle is still easily reachable.
